Apple announces better iMacs

On September 8th, Apple displayed alongside new iPods, faster iMacs reaching speeds of 1.25 GHz as well as faster DDR memory, a better NVIDIA graphics card and new USB 2.0 ports. The 15-inch iMac will include a 1 GHz G4 processor, however all other features will be the same between the two models which includes a standard 80 GB hard drive. This update finally adds USB 2.0 to the "consumer" line of Macs and in a sense replaces the 1.25 GHz PowerMac G4s of yester month. The new update to the iMac line also puts aside rumors--for now--that a case change would accompany this iMac update.
